Huh! If they're role models, then I'm ... not. And as for spicing them up (a la McBeal) with a bit of straight-chick-does-girl-snogging … oh please! Show me a lesbian who actually wants to shag a (truly) straight girl and I'll show you a dyke in denial who just really likes getting her heart broken. It was neither clever nor attractive when Madonna did it for a bit of cheap publicity (try walking down a street lovingly holding hands with another woman in the real world sweetie - see how much good publicity it gets you then!!), and it's a damn sight less attractive when stick-insect telly babes start trying it on.

By all means let your straight girl lives/characters/dreams/nightmares play around with whoever they want (God knows the rest of us do), but can we all PLEASE stop thinking it's interesting when they do so??? Dull, dull, dull.

And do the boy TV execs think it might be just about time to come up with a girlie who has good lines, good curves AND half a brain?? (Or is exhuming Bette Davis just too much to ask?)
