Ladies, ladies, ladies... if you have not yet discovered the joys of Big Men, it's time to get started. But get your mind out of the gutter, girls. We're talking tall, not long. We're talking hefty. We're talking about a REAL man -- someone who can hoist you up over his shoulder and march you over to bed, throw your ass on it and pin you down for a little téte a téte. Yes, we're talking about a man with some meat on him.... and here's the biggest bonus of all: when it comes to taking your clothes off in front of him, you'll never have to worry about those extra pounds of your own. Because a Big Man understands that a girl with a healthy appetite for dinner knows how to really dig in when it comes to dessert. Our vote for the man who'd make a truly just dessert: Brrrrrrrrace Yerself!
He's big, he's bad...
and he's the sexiest thing to ever come out of Scotland (god
knows, he beats the latex pants off that runt Rod Stewart). He's
been well-known in the U.K. for decades and is fast becoming
a household name in the States. He first made a splash across
the pond in the 1990's, when PBS viewers watched him star in
the BBC's highly-acclaimed detective series "Cracker"
as Dr. Edward "Fitz" Fitzgerald, a deeply flawed forensic
psychologist whose intellect and self-hatred led him to embrace
such self-destructive habits as alcohol and gambling. Since voluntarily quitting
the series in 1996 to avoid type-casting, Coltrane has carved
out a niche for himself in both drama and comedy. He has co-starred
in numerous U.K. and U.S. films as the hero, the villain, the
tortured man, comedic relief, the loyal friend..... everything
but the role we'd like to see him in: romantic leading man. (Yeah,
yeah, so he was married to Rene Russo in "Buddy". It's
not like he got to drop trou or anything.) You might remember
him best from "Message in a Bottle," "Goldeneye"
or "The World is Not Enough." Right now, you can see
him in theaters as Johnny Depp's detective friend in "From
Hell." In fact, you can also see him -- or at least his
eyes -- in "Harry Potter," though we confess that his
character Hagrid, the groundskeeper, has a little too much hair
even for the most bear-loving among us. (I shouldn't have told
you that...) Nonetheless, Robbie Coltrane has broken out to the big time and you'll be seeing a lot more of him in the years ahead. Probably not as much more as we'd like, of course, but we'll settle for what we can get.
